Looking for a new way to "see a seashell" in this shot. My friend let me borrow this beautiful Trident Seashell to try for some unique underwater shots. There was no living creature inside the shell. This turned out to be my favorite shot... just letting the shell glide down through this beautiful underwater scene in Hawaii. This print is available, in a variety of sizes, on metal or canvas. Sometimes... simple compositions are the best. Such was the case with this Trident Shell, lying in the sand, in beautiful Hawaiian waters.
Ground level view of the restored church building at the old Hawaiian village site of Keomoku. Remnants of a coconut tree grove still survive in an area now dominated by kiawe trees. Back in the 1890's, there was a try at a sugar plantation in this area... but the attempt, eventually, failed. There is no electricity and no running water here. A rugged dirt road is the only way of reaching this place by land. I explored this area, many times, over my years of living on Lana'i. Very remote and very peaceful.
